Scattered Thoughts | ചിതറിയ ചിന്തകൾ

വീട് നിറയെ പ്രകാശം നൽകിയ വിളക്ക് പെട്ടെന്നൊരുനാൾ അണഞ്ഞു പോവുമ്പോൾ  അന്തരീക്ഷം നിറയെ വേദനയും  നഷ്ടബോധവും നിറയുന്നു. പക്ഷെ ആ വിളക്ക് പകർന്ന വെളിച്ചം പലരിലൂടെ പല കൈകളിലേക്ക് പകർന്നുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കും.. പുളിവീട്ടിലെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട അമ്മൂമ്മ ചെറിയൊരു കാറ്റ് പോലെ ജൂൺ 27ന് വൈകുന്നേരം, ആരോടും പറയാതെ, പരിഭവമില്ലാതെ, പരാതിക്ക് ഇടംകൊടുക്കാതെ കടന്നുപോയി. അന്ത്യനാളുകളിൽ അമ്മുമ്മയുടെ അടുത്തുവന്നിരുന്ന് മെലിഞ്ഞ കൈകൾ  തലോടിയും പേര് ചൊല്ലിവിളിച്ചും വിശേഷങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞും കൂട്ടായെത്തിയവരോട്‌ കാര്യമായൊന്നും പറയാതെയാണ് യാത്രയായത്. ആരെയും കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്താതെ ഇവിടം വിടാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചയാൾ ഇവിടം വിട്ടപ്പോൾ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുണ്ടായത് എത്രയെത്ര ആളുകൾക്കാണ്! ഒരു വ്യക്തിയെ പോലും അൽപ്പമെങ്കിലും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിപ്പിക്കാതെ കടന്നുപോവുന്നത് അസംഭവ്യമായ സംഗതിയാണ്. അവർക്കൊരു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടായി തോന്നിയാലും പരിചരിക്കുന്നവർ അങ്ങനെയാവില്ല കരുതുന്നത്. ചിലപ്പോൾ രക്ഷപെടില്ലെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും നിരാശരാവാതെ നീട്ടുന്ന നിരന്തരമായ കരുതലിന്റെ പേരാവാം സ്നേഹം. തന്റെ മരണത്തെ സാധാരണ സംഭവമായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ഓർമ്മകൾ സമ്മാനിച്ചാണ് മടക്കം.  ന...

                    A calamity is a wild experience. The gravity and severity of a disaster are beyond pictures and words. Every such incident is a combination of bittersweet and dangerous memories. It affects people in a contrasting fashion. For some people, the memories of the 2018 Kerala floods associate with the helping nature of Malayalis. There have been several conversations where people praised the courage and character shown by our people. The conversation stops with the usual exclaimer that 'Malayali helping mentality has changed' and people continue to take advantage against each other. However, testing times demand endurance from people. So, looking in perspective, it is a positive memory of our fighting spirit. But there lies an irony.
