Scattered Thoughts | ചിതറിയ ചിന്തകൾ

ഈ കുറിപ്പെഴുതുന്നതിനു മുൻപ് നിറയെ ആലോചിച്ചു. പാട്ടിനെ 'ആഴത്തിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന' ഒരാൾക്ക് ഒരു പാട്ടുകാരിയോട് മാത്രം കൂടുതൽ ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നുമോ? പക്ഷെ, ചില ഇഷ്ടങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു കാരണം ഉണ്ടായിക്കൊള്ളണം എന്നില്ലല്ലോ. കെ എസ് ചിത്രയെ ആരാധിക്കാൻ കാരണം കണ്ടെത്തേണ്ടതുണ്ടോ? അവരുടെ ഒരു ഗാനം കേൾക്കാത്ത ദിവസങ്ങൾ നമ്മൾ പലരുടെയും ജീവിതത്തിൽ വളരെ ചുരുക്കമാണ്. നാല് പതിറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെയായി പല ഭാഷകളിൽ മുഴങ്ങിക്കേൾക്കുന്ന ആ ഭാവഗായികയുടെ പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന്  ആസ്വാദകരിലൊരാളാണ് ഇതെഴുതുന്നത്.  ചിത്രാമ്മയുടെ പാട്ടുകൾ എനിക്ക് നന്മയിലേക്കുള്ള തിരിച്ചുപോക്കാണ്. മനസ്സിലെ എല്ലാ വിഷമങ്ങളും അലിഞ്ഞിറങ്ങുന്ന പ്രതീതിയാണ് ചില ഗാനങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തോന്നുന്നത്. ഈയ്യടുത്തു 'കാർമുകിൽ വർണ്ണന്റെ ചുണ്ടിൽ' വീണ്ടും കേൾക്കാനിടയായി. ഹൃദയം കൊണ്ട് പാടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ആ ഗാനം എന്നെ കുറച്ചുനേരം മൗനവാനാക്കി.  "വീണുറങ്ങുന്നൊരു ശ്രീരാഗമേ നിന്നെ പുൽകിയുണർത്താൻ മറന്നു കണ്ണൻ" കാവ്യസുന്ദരമായ വരികൾക്ക് ചിത്രാമ്മയുടെ പൂങ്കുയിൽനാദം ചേരുമ്പോൾ എന്തൊരു മനോഹാരിതയാണ്. അമ്പലനടയിൽ ഈശ്വരനെ തൊഴുതുനിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ മനസ്സിന് തോന്നുന്ന കുളിർമ്മയും, അനുഭൂതിയു...

Good writing is a hard task which involves clarity, conciseness and readability. An idea could be beautiful and shareworthy. But if the writer is not able to express it through words, the whole effort could go in vain.  The readers may miss out an opportunity to read something nice.   How do we achieve this daunting task of keeping the reader glued to our words?   1) Write clearly and legibly - Try to keep a sequence.  Make sure that there is continuity in each sentences.  Avoid writing complex sentences. Try to make it simple and easy to understand.  Let the idea shine brightly but not the words.   2). Think hard - Good writing involves a lot of thinking.  We need to form a structure in our mind to form a meaning to our ideas.  Make sure we highlight each idea separately because they form the outline of our writings.  Think about the possible angles that may work for our writing piece.   3) Edit smoo...

ജോലിസംബന്ധമായോ, പഠനാവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കോ ജന്മനാട് വിട്ടുനിൽക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്നത് പല ആളുകളെയും സംബന്ധിച്ച് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുള്ള ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. നാട്ടിലെ സംഭവവികാസങ്ങൾ അകലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വീക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ പലരുടെയും ഉള്ളുകൾ ഒന്നുരുകിയെന്നു വരാം. നമുക്ക്  പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയാതെ പോയ വിശിഷ്ട ചടങ്ങുകളും, സൗഹൃദക്കൂട്ടായ്മകളും നമ്മുടെ മുന്നിൽ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ രൂപത്തിൽ  എത്തുമ്പോൾ അറിയാതെ ഒന്ന് നെടുവീർപ്പിടും.  പിന്നെ നഗരത്തിലെ തിരക്കുകളിൽ മുഖംപൊത്തും. ചിലരെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് പ്രവാസം ഒരു തരം  ഒളിച്ചോട്ടമാണ്.  നാട്ടിലെ അസുഖകരമായ ഓർമ്മകൾ മറന്നുകളയാൻ അന്യനാട്ടിലെ വാസം അവരെ അൽപ്പം സഹായിച്ചെന്ന് വരും.   പ്രവാസജീവിതത്തിൽ മധുരവും, കയ്പ്പും ഒരുപോലെ നിറഞ്ഞുനിൽക്കുന്നു. പുതിയ  നാട്ടിൽ പുത്തൻജീവിതം കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കാൻ ചിലർ ഉത്സാഹം കാട്ടാറുണ്ട്. ചിലർക്ക് വീട്ടിലെ ബാധ്യതകൾ തീരുന്നത് വരെ താങ്ങാനുള്ള ഇടത്താവളമാണ് പ്രവാസിനാട്.  കേരളത്തിനകത്തെ പോലെ വെളിനാട്ടിലും  സജീവമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന മലയാളി സംഘടനകൾ നമ്മുടെ നാടും, സംസ്‌കാരവുമായി അകന്നുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻ മലയാളിയെ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.   കേരളത...

                            ടോട്ടോച്ചാൻ എന്ന വിശ്വപ്രസിദ്ധമായ രചന ആദ്യമായി വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ എന്റെ മാതൃവിദ്യാലയത്തെയും, ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തം കൊബായാഷി മാസ്റ്ററെയും സ്വാഭാവികമായും ഓർത്തുപോയി.   ലീലാമണി ടീച്ചറും, ലീലസാറും പഠിപ്പിച്ചു തന്ന ആശാൻകളരിയിലെ ബാല്യപാഠങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലോർത്താണ് ആദ്യമായി സ്‌കൂൾപടികൾ ചവിട്ടിയത്. പഴയ എൻ എസ് കരയോഗമന്ദിരം വാടകയ്‌ക്കെടുത്തു അവിടെ ഒരു വിദ്യാലയം നടത്തിയത് നാട്ടിലെ പ്രമുഖ എഴുത്തുകാരനായ രാജു കഞ്ഞിപ്പാടം എന്ന ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജു സാറും, പ്രിയപത്നി ബിന്ദു ടീച്ചറും ചേർന്നാണ്. ഞാൻ പഠിച്ചത് എയ്ഞ്ചൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മീഡിയം സ്‌കൂളിലാണ്.  ആറ്റുതീരത്താണ്  ഞങ്ങളുടെ സ്കൂൾ  സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഗേറ്റിനരികെ നിന്നാൽ പുറംകാഴ്ചകൾ ഭംഗിയായി കാണാം. സ്കൂളിൽ ഒരു കാര്യത്തിനും അമിതമായ കടുംപിടിത്തങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വലിയ ഹാൾമുറി ചെറിയ ബോർഡുകൾ കൊണ്ടു മറച്ചാണ് ക്‌ളാസുകൾ നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്. ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണം എല്ലാ കുട്ടികളും നിലത്തു ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു കഴിക്കും. ഞാനും, ഗോകുൽ ജിയും, സുബിതയും, അഖിലും,  ദേവികയും, അഞ്ജ...

Is it easy to understand people? Do we struggle a lot and search hard to read their minds? Do we succeed or give up midway? How do we fail? Here's what I think.  We do not understand,   1). When we lose patience.  2). When we do not follow what they say.  3). When we are disinterested.  What is the best way to talk to people in a way that you make best sense to everyone? Observation is a good tool which can help us. Observation gives insights and perspectives. They mould us about how to speak or approach something. Why we must observe When we observe, we consciously go into the mind of a person to understand them clearly. We have such powerful weapons in our body. They help us to decode things. We just need to use them appropriately because it can yield wonderful results.  Am I good with mindreading? I am not but I try to understand where I fail. This helps in future when we come across similar situations.  I like to observe people....

ഇഷ്ടഭക്ഷണം മുൻപിൽ കാണുമ്പോൾ നാവിൽ വെള്ളമൂറുന്ന ഭക്ഷണപ്രേമിയെപ്പോലെയാണ് പ്രിയപുസ്തകം മുന്നിൽ കിട്ടുമ്പോൾ എന്റെ മനസ്സ്.  കവർ ചിത്രവും, തലക്കെട്ടും കൊതിയോടെ നോക്കി, അകം പേജിലെ വില ഒത്തുനോക്കി കൂട്ടലും, കിഴിക്കലും കഴിഞ്ഞ് ചില പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ സ്വന്തമാക്കുന്നു.  അവയെ പരിചരിക്കുന്നു.  വാങ്ങിയ പുസ്തകം തിരികെനല്കാത്തവരെ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. പുസ്തകങ്ങളെ ഒരു സമ്പാദ്യം പോലെ കാണാൻ പഠിപ്പിച്ചത് വീട്ടിലെ വായനാന്തരീക്ഷമാണ്. ഒരു സാധാരണ തടി ഷെൽഫിനെയാണ് ആദ്യം പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ അടുക്കി വെയ്ക്കാൻ ഒരുക്കിനിർത്തിയത്.  അവിടെ ചെറുകഥയും, നോവലും, പഠനങ്ങളും, അനുഭവങ്ങളും, ആത്മകഥയും, ആത്മീയ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളും ചേക്കേറി. ആ ശേഖരമാണ് വീട്ടിലെ വായനാമൂലയായി വളർന്നുവന്നത്.  സ്വന്തമായി ഒരു പുസ്തകശേഖരം ഒരുക്കാൻ എനിക്ക് പ്രചോദനമായത് വീട്ടിലെ കാഴ്ചകളാണ് എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. കുട്ടിക്കാലത്ത് പുസ്തകങ്ങളെത്തിച്ചു തന്ന അച്ഛനും, കഥകൾ വായിച്ചുതന്ന അമ്മയും എന്റെ വായനയെ വളർത്തി. വായിച്ച പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വീണ്ടും വായിക്കാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു. സമ്മാനമായി പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയതോടെ പുസ്തക...

It nearly took three decades for the honourable CBI court to pronounce verdict on Babri Masjid demolition case. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വർഷം 2004. മമ്മൂട്ടി ചിത്രമായ അപരിചിതൻ തിയേറ്ററുകളിൽ പ്രദർശനത്തിന് വന്ന സമയം. ഞാനന്ന് ആറാം ക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയാണ്. അടുത്ത വീട്ടിലെ ബിനുചേട്ടന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോയിരുന്നു സിനിമാമാസികകൾ അരിച്ചുപെറുക്കുന്നത് അന്നത്തെ ഒരു പ്രധാനവിനോദമാണ്. കുരുത്തം കെട്ട കുട്ടിക്കാലമായിരുന്നു എന്റേത്. കുറെയേറെ വികൃതിത്തരങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.   എനിക്ക് ചെറുപ്പം മുതൽ പ്രേതകഥകളോട് വല്ലാത്ത ഭ്രമമുണ്ട്. പ്രായമുള്ളവർ പറഞ്ഞുകേട്ട 'സംഭവകഥകളും', നാട്ടിലെ കാവും, ഇരുട്ട് നിറഞ്ഞ അന്തരീക്ഷവുമെല്ലാം എന്നിൽ സ്വാഭാവികമായി ഒരു താൽപ്പര്യം വളരാൻ കാരണമായി.   അപരിചിതൻ സിനിമ തീയേറ്ററിൽ പോയി കണ്ട രഞ്ജിനിചേച്ചിയാണ് ഓജോ ബോർഡിനെപ്പറ്റി ആധികാരികമായ അറിവുകൾ ആദ്യമായി പങ്കുവെച്ചത്. അന്ന് ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് പ്രചാരത്തിൽ വന്നിട്ടില്ല. ആളുകൾ പറയുന്നതോ, പുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ അച്ചടിച്ചുവന്നതോ ആയ അറിവിനാണ് ആധികാരികത.  "എടാ അച്ചൂ, ഈ ഓജോ ബോർഡ് ഒരു ഭയങ്കര സംഭവമാ കേട്ടോ" "സത്യം ചേച്ചി" "ഇതൊക്കെ കളിക്കാൻ അപാര ധൈര്യം വേണമെടാ" "നമുക്ക് ഓജോ ബോർഡ് കളിച്ചുനോക്കിയാലോ ചേച്ചീ" അങ്ങനെയൊരു മറുപടി ചേച്ചിയു...

We learn big concepts and ideas. Do we make use of what we learn in our real lives? Not many of us have that luxury.   We spent a considerable amount of time undertaking various levels of education. What is the actual purpose of our class room learning?  1) To make a person self-sufficient.  2) To acquire knowledge.  3). To gain social status.  4). To earn a decent living. What do we learn mostly in our student life? We learn many but only a few are successful in translating what we have learned into something productive in their lives. Do we approach these institutes with a clear goal in mind or do we simply follow the crowd to take that one course preferred by most people? The answer is personal. But if we do not meet the expectations of ourselves or society, we will eventually feel terrible inside.
